Born and raised in Minnesota, Joy Ciaffoni received her education at the University of Minnesota where she sang in a small jazz combo, studied voice privately, and was a member of several performance groups both professional and non-professional. After graduating, Joy was one of the original members of "The Hot Dishes," a four-part female vocal group from Alexandria, MN. Joy has also attended Willamette University, Minnesota State University, and Portland State University to study music therapy, vocal performance, and music education.
Joy has performed in a variety of theater shows, her favorite being "The Music Man," playing the part of Marian. In 2008 Joy made her first studio recording at Good Job Studio in Portland, OR. The CD is a collection of Irving Berlin songs from the early decades entitled Reaching for the Moon.
